It is possible to build SimpleMotion V2 compatible communication interface device from commonly available parts. This article gives instructions of making one from the parts listed below.
- 1pcs FTDI's USB to RS485 adapter cable, USB-RS485-WE-1800-BT
- 1pcs Non-cross linked RJ45 cable (cable will be cut, so one cable is good up to two adapters)
- 2pcs 620 to 680 ohm leaded resistors
- 1pcs 6 pole terminal block
- 1pcs cable tie

Stripping insulation of RJ45 cable
Stripping individual wires of RJ45 cable. Shorten out all except green/white, green and brown.
Making connections with terminal block
