12-160V 20A two-axis DC servo drive
A VSD-E & VSD-XE drive equipped with DualDC firmware is a state of the art position controlling DC servo drive. With this special firmware, single drive unit can drive two independent brush DC servo motors.

Since single drive can control two motors, the cost per axis is efficiently halved. In single quantity VSD-E-160 with DualDC firmware costs only €99.50/axis.
Hard to kill
Reliability is guaranteed by wide safety margins and extensive testing. The power stage is built from 200V 60A rated MOSFETs. The drive is protected against short circuit, over voltage, under voltage, reverse polarity and over temperature.
Stepper like control input
DualDC features standard step/direction input for each motor. Step multiplier is user adjustable between 1 and 20×. Input smoothing filter is applied if mutiplier is 2 or more.
Connect to any fieldbus

CNC made easy
DualDC is compatible with VSDEPI and most of step/dir capable controllers, such as Mach3, EMC2 and SmoothStepper.
True torque control
DualDC features a current feedback torque controller. Motor currents are measured and controlled every 50 microseconds to maximize dynamic performance and equipment protection.
Silent operation
The drive features an antidither feature which aims to silence motor dithering & hunting noise when standing still.
Soft fault recovery
Recovery from faults is performed in controlled manner. After clearing faults motors move back to their target position at limited velocity.
All the power you need
The drives accept wide input voltage range from 12 to 160 VDC. Peak output current is 20 A. To protect motors, output current limits can be precisely set from DCtool software.
DC & AC & BLDC servo motors
With alternative freerly downloadable firmware VSD-E & XE drives support also AC and BLDC servo motors.

Easiness redefined
Special attention has been paid to configuration software and manuals. DCtool software takes guesswork out of servo tuning and connects to drive through USB. DCtool downloads position response data directly from drive eliminating the need for oscilloscope.
Gentle to machine
The drive protects machine with advanced motor monitoring. Motor will be stopped if position deviates more than specified amout or if loss of encoder signal is detected. Also static mechanical blocking is detected in a fraction of a second.
Parallel axis support
DualDC can be configured to drive two motors from single step/dir source making it ideal for paralleled or slave axis.
Panel installation
VSD-E/XE drives and VSDEPI can be easily installed to front/back panel of enclosure. Standard 19" rack compatible stainless steel panels are available.
High speed performance
DualDC drive accepts 500 kHz step rate for each motor. Encoder input supports the same frequency and features also digital noise filter.
